The Maxxis Assegai is named after the iron-tipped spear used by the Zulu people of South Africa. Developed with Greg Minnaar, its tall tread blocks are designed to punch through dust and loam for traction while remaining supportive and predictable over wet roots and rocks.

3C MaxxTerra
An intermediate triple-compound configuration that balances traction, rolling speed and tread life. It offers more grip than MaxxSpeed while providing lower rolling resistance and better wear than MaxxGrip.
EXO
A lightweight, flexible, cut- and abrasion-resistant sidewall protection layer for trail and mountain bike use.
EXO+
Additional casing protection for riders who want greater puncture and sidewall resistance than standard EXO while retaining a supple trail-focused ride feel.
Tubeless Ready
Selected Assegai variants are Tubeless Ready (TR) for use with compatible tubeless rims, valves and sealant.
